Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to compare electricity prices on Smartermeter.ie, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Last updated 8 October 2026
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That means, for example, that you should be able to:
- use the whole site with a keyboard alone;
- zoom text to 200% without content being cut off;
- use the site with a screen reader;
- use it on a phone as well as a computer.
We test pages with automated checks and by hand when we make changes.
What we know isn't right yet
- Some charts of usage and prices don't yet work well with a screen reader.
- Some pale grey text is lighter than it should be against its background.
- Connecting your smart meter means signing in to ESB Networks, whose site we don't control.
We're working through these and will update this page as they're fixed.
Tell us about a problem
If you can't use part of the site, or you need information in another format, email team@smartermeter.ie. Tell us the page and what went wrong. We'll reply within 10 working days, and we're glad to help you compare plans over email in the meantime.
If you're not happy with our response, see our complaints procedure.
